Three days before the expected siege, Lilith requested to travel to Evangelica to give her more time to locate the source of the power of the barrier and avoiding any mishaps in the plan. This request was quickly approved, and Lilith left immediately.

With her swift and flawless movements, Lilith arrived at the gates of Evangelica in a flash. Dracsylvanya was in the farthest part of the country, and it usually takes three days to reach Evangelica. Lilith did it in a day.

Upon arriving, she noticed the long queue of people going in and out of the kingdom. The security has already been tightened even though the barrier is still up and running.

"Seems like the rumors about an upcoming attack are starting to spread?" She thought.

She started to line up to the long queue. To her surprise, she felt the incredible energy they are talking about. The reports she knew says that there will be a quick jolt throughout the body that will be experienced, but there was something different about hers.

Lilith felt the quick jolt, but then there was a warm, gentle feeling that surrounded her body as if it was an embrace, welcoming her to Evangelica. But before Lilith could think more about it, the energy has already disappeared.

In front of the line, there was an older man, and he was next to be inspected. Smiling to the guards, he approached the kingdom's gates.

*Thug!* as the older man bumped onto the barrier. He tried once again, and it gave him the same *thug!* result. He tried knocking but now slowly panicking.

The guards were starting to notice the older man, and one by one, they started raising their spears and swords.

The older man smiled and explained that maybe there was wrong in the barrier.

But all the defective things in their world, the barrier was never one of them. It has never been wrong.

The barrier could see through anybody's soul; it can, uniquely, examine your heart's sincere intention.

"Stop! Don't move!" as the guards started to approach the old man.

The old man stopped, looked at the ground, desperately told them, "I just want to eat..." he started sobbing. As he slowly raised his head to face them, the older man didn't look human anymore.

And with a firm voice to shout, "I just want to eat human flesh!! Let me taste it!" The demon has now fully transformed.

And as he raised his arm to strike the guards, the holy barrier of Evangelica strike down an abundant light to the demon obliterating him.

Upon seeing this, fear somewhat stroked Lilith. That's how powerful the barrier is.

Everyone was shocked by this happening; some removed themselves from the queue and didn't pursue their intentions. No one knows if they are monsters in disguise or just scared people.

Getting back to work as quickly as possible and as if nothing has happened. The guards shouted, "Next person please!"

Lilith didn't notice that she was already next in the line.

It's now or never for Lilith. She can't transform into a vampire at daylight if they suspect, it would burn her, or the barrier would completely obliterate her.

She must remain as a human.

Risking her whole life for the sake of the mission and trusting his "Father's word," she closed her eyes and tried her luck.

"Please, please, please..." she whispered repeatedly.

There was a resistance to the barrier. Lilit was about to get detected when a faint image of an old lady appeared in her thoughts and said, "Welcome Home."

She got in.

With great relief, she was finally inside Evangelica.

Lilith can't fully understand what happened or who was the old lady. Still, something was a soothing and comfy feeling about the place.

But before getting caught up in the excellent feeling, Lilith shook her head and resumed her objective.

The power source of the barrier isn't hard to find, but the security around the enormous Cathedral was the challenge.

She needed to pass through a hundred guards and, at the same time, not get lost inside the massive structure.

Lilith spent her two nights in an inn near the central plaza, polishing her plan of attack to the Cathedral.

Observing the city through her window, Lilith started to feel an incredible energy again faintly. Still, every time she starts to notice it, the power will disappear like it was playing hide and seek.

"Darn it! Where is it coming!?" Lilith thought while getting irritated

It was the last evening.

While lying down on the inn's rooftop and sipping on bear-boar blood, Lilith thought a lot of things.

Like what would she be like if she was just a person living a simple life? And then it quickly changed to being proud of having amazing abilities and powers as a vampire. Then finally, she remembers Dalveth. A little curious about where he will be going, and what's more important than this siege.

But before she could think any further.

An older woman's voice whispered to her ears gently. "Oh! Look at you. You've grown!"

Lilith jumped to her feet and now ready to attack. "Who's there?!" she shouted to the air, but nothing responded.

She was sure that he heard a voice. Lilith started to notice that it's stupid to waste time on the voice she heard and just didn't further thought of it anymore.

She sat down and resumed her pondering. "Tomorrow's the big night," she said silently while taking a last look at the city before she goes down to her room and sleep.

It was a gloomy and cloudy day. Lilith started her final preparations.

As soon as the clock hits 3 in the afternoon, she puts on her cloak and her mask then headed straight to the Cathedral. It's time to put the barrier down.

Lilith needed to be as stealthy as she can be. Even though she's a powerful and skilled vamp, she couldn't handle a hundred guards at the same time.

She finally reached the Cathedral, and there she saw several groups of royal guards scattered outside the Cathedral, looking for anything suspicious.

But it wasn't enough to stop Lilith from her mission. Shadow by shadow and taking opportunities in big groups, she blended in.

And finally, she was in. Lilith was astounded on what she saw.

The Cathedral was vast and beautiful! But calling it just beautiful was an oversimplification of how magnificent it was.

Even though Lilith wants to take more time and admire the elegance of the structure, every second count and she needed to continue her mission.

Time was very crucial in her mission. She realized that hiding and being stealthy is slowing her down as it requires patience and precise timing.

Lilith glanced at one of the Cathedral's clock; it was already 4:30 pm. The evening is coming, and she needed to hurry, her reinforcements will arrive soon.

She needed a new plan. She needed a disguise.

Luckily, there was a passing guard, and it looks like he is going to take a toilet break.

It was the perfect moment, Lilith thought. She followed the guard.

Lilith came out of the restroom, now wearing the same uniform and armor as every guard.

The guard was left unconscious back at the toilet.

"I can't kill anybody yet; it would attract too much attention." Lilith thought.

Confident in her disguise, Lilith continued her search. It wasn't long enough until she found it as it's quite apparent.

At Cathedral's center, there was a long hallway. Several elite guards, around 15 to 16 in estimate forming two lines evenly, were standing in front of a large door with an intricate design made out of back marble and gold.

"There's no more doubt, that room is where the power source is," said Lilith

"It's impossible going through all those guards without noticing me or blowing up my disguise." Lilith continued

"There's no other way; I have to kill them all." Lilith decided.

She strolled towards them, readying herself for the strike

"Don't do this, my child," the voice whispered to her head again.

"Not now," said Lilith thought.

"Get out of my head," she whispered as she approached the guards.

"Stop!" One of the elite guards shouted to Lilith.

"Why are you here, soldier? Who's your commanding officer?" asked the other guard.

"RED ALERT! RED ALERT! WE HAVE BEEN BREACHED! THE INTRUDER IS WEARING A ROYAL GUARD UNIFORM! THE UNIFORM BELONGS TO C. KYU! HE HAS BEEN FOUND UNCONSCIOUS!"

A loud announcement was suddenly broadcasted in the Cathedral.

The elite guards looked at Lilith's uniform name badge. It was from C. Kyu.

The guard wasn't able to look back at her. The massacre has begun.

Lilith ran towards the room and killing everyone that guards the door.

The last of the elite royal guards managed to alert the other guards in the Cathedral before getting murdered. None has survived.

Lilith took the keys from one of the dead guards and finally unlocked the room.

She entered the room and locked the door behind her.

"Mina, my granddaughter. Stop, don't do this," the voice pleads inside Lilith's head.

"WHO ARE YOU!? STOP GETTING INSIDE MY HEAD," Lilith furiously screamed as she walks towards a large floating crucifix that seems to be the source of light barrier.

The footsteps were getting louder as the royal guards gather outside the room.

Loud bangs were being heard outside. The guards were struggling to open the marble door.

"Open the door! You're surrounded!" one royal guard screamed.

Lilith was already a few feet away from the crucifix when the voice spoke again.

"Please, Mina," she said, and a ghostly figure of Evangelie Raviere appeared before Mina's eye.

"Don't do this," she said once again.

"Who are you? Move aside! I got no time for this!" Mina shouted. She's indeed running out of time.

The guards have managed to get equipment to destroy the door, and at any minute, the door will burst open.

"I'm your grandmother. Don't destroy this city. The legacy that your ancestors left behind to protect everyone. Please. For the people, for your family," Evangelie spoke softly.

Confused on what's happening, Lilith has finally made a decision.

"My only family is my father, Dalveth" Lilith said as she pulls the Dagger of the impure and striking the crucifix.

The light and Evangelie screamed and started to disintegrate.

A loud bang was heard then, and the barrier disappeared along with it. The whole kingdom of Evangelica is now exposed.

Back in the Cathedral, the door has already been destroyed, and Royal Guards now surround Lilith.
